The statistics for it can never lie if we go back and check then you will find that the stock prizes for the Meta platform have fallen up to 50%. The largest market value wipeout for a US corporation ever occurred on February 2nd, 2022, when Meta, the firm that owns Facebook and Instagram, lost $230 billion in market value in just one day. Mark Zuckerberg announced that their website’s traffic and earnings have been falling on this day.

1) The Originality Is Lost

A quick scan through Instagram will show you that the site as we once knew it is no more. Reels are in; photos are out. Algorithm-selected feeds have taken the place of chronological feeds. The list keeps on.

Instagram’s original appeal to users is dwindling quickly. Instagram used to be a platform where you could view pictures taken by friends or other influencers you decided to follow.

But today, the stuff that was never requested by us is overflowing our feeds with (poorly) suggested pieces from other people.

This is the main reason, in our opinion, that Instagram is becoming less relevant.

2) Trying To Be Everything At Once

I understand that trying to be everything at once. They’re attempting to compete with several other social networking applications that are becoming more popular, but when will these businesses realize that we use particular apps for particular purposes? and give up attempting to be everyone’s one-stop-shop on Instagram?

Snapchat appears and soon Instagram introduces stories.

As TikTok grows, Instagram releases Reels.

And recall how Instagram even made an attempt to imitate YouTube when they released the IGTV app, which was swiftly taken down.

3) User Expansion

Instagram has a sizable user base and is constantly expanding.

It just topped two billion active monthly users, joining Facebook and WhatsApp in a select group. By 2025, it is anticipated to have 1.44 billion users, continuing its upward trend from year to year. Even while it isn’t growing at the same rate as in previous years, it will continue to go in the correct direction for the foreseeable future.

But the downfall in the user growth clearly shows us that there is an impending doom that awaits this app and the downfall is nearer. The app is no doubt acquiring users but the rate of acquiring is lessening year by year.

4) The Low Engagement Also Speaks

Brands, influencers, and regular users all complain about low interaction on Instagram. It is disappointing, but it demonstrates that Instagram is no longer a viable platform.

Short-form video is currently a primary goal for Instagram, which has made no secret of this. After all, it faces up against services like TikTok and Snapchat. However, if you continue to use Instagram as if it’s 2012 (complete with the Valencia filter), your engagement will continue to decline.

We are in the next stage of Instagram’s development when still photographs are being replaced by Reels and Stories. In fact, since 2019, when Reels debuted, engagement for static photographs has dropped by 44%.

The engagement has stayed steady for those who switched to Reels, in some cases even exploding for creators.

The flatline pattern depicted in Meta’s quarterly revenue growth graph appears to be reflected in these unfavorable adjustments.

Starting around the end of 2020, these numbers have plateaued for the first time in years. The number of people I choose to follow on this formerly community-driven site is now less than half of what it once was. It appears as though Instagram is making the decisions for us rather than giving us the power to select what we want to view. But we are aware that we are not the only ones experiencing this.
